ProX Experience Norms

Build Community

We look out for one another, encourage each other, and help create a space where every intern feels seen, supported, and included.

Show Up Ready

We arrive on time, prepared, and engaged. Whether we are at PD, our internship site, or connecting with our coach, we take responsibility for how we show up and contribute.

Stay Open To Learning

We ask questions, receive feedback, try new things, and reflect on our growth.

Lead with Respect

We treat every person with dignity, kindness, and professionalism. We listen to understand, speak with care, and honor different experiences, perspectives, and identities.

Practice Professionalism Everywhere

We represent ourselves, our families, our schools, our employers, and ProX with care. Our words, actions, communication, and choices should reflect the kind of leaders we are becoming.

Weekly Professional Development (PD) Overview

Weekly Professional Development (PD) sessions are a core part of your ProX internship experience and take place every Monday throughout the summer. During PD, you’ll participate in workshops, coaching sessions, and interactive activities focused on building work-ready skills like communication, collaboration, leadership, critical thinking, professionalism, and career readiness.

These sessions are designed to support the hands-on learning happening at your internship site and help you continue growing both personally and professionally throughout the summer experience.

ProX and The DeBruce Foundation’s Partnership

ProX is excited to continue our partnership with The DeBruce Foundation for a fifth summer supporting our interns through Agilities and career exploration tools designed to help young people better understand future pathways.

The DeBruce Foundation is a national foundation whose mission is to expand both economic growth and opportunity. These tools allow students to gain deeper insight into professional environments that directly support their success beyond the ProX experience.

This summer, we are excited to continue integrating Agilities into our professional development programming to help students strengthen career literacy and cultivate confidence in the next generation of workforce.

Plan Ahead: Anticipated World Cup Road Closures

Some streets near the FIFA Fan Fest in Kansas City are expected to experience closures and increased traffic. Showing up on time is an important part of your internship experience, so we encourage you to plan your route ahead of time and allow for extra travel time when needed.

While unexpected delays can happen, preparing in advance helps set you up for success. Please review the map and article below to help plan your transportation and arrival throughout the summer.

Crossroads Elective
Credit Eligibility

As a ProX intern, you are eligible to earn one elective credit upon successful completion of your internship this summer! To be eligible, a summer school application must be completed through our partner school, Crossroads Charter Schools, using Infinite Campus by your parent or guardian.

The application must be submitted by Friday, May 22. The application link has already been emailed directly to them, so be sure to remind them to complete it as soon as possible.

Final credit approval is determined by your school district. Completing the application helps ensure your participation is fully documented throughout the program.

For the best experience, we recommend completing the application on a computer or laptop. Recommended browsers include: Chrome in Incognito Mode, Firefox, or Microsoft Edge.

Meet Your Coach

Your coach is your guide through the ProX experience. You will meet often with your coach and they will check-in with you and your employer weekly. Get to know your coach, and take a peek at the other coaches working with ProX interns.

Transportation Assistance
With HopSkipDrive

ProX has partnered with HopSkipDrive to provide limited, need-based transportation support for interns who require consistent assistance getting to and from their internship site.

If you have been approved for transportation assistance by the ProX team and require any additional support, please contact our Resource Specialist, Cortney Ray.
