How It Works

ProX isn’t about being “accepted”—it’s about showing up and staying engaged. When you complete each step on time, you earn the opportunity to interview and land an internship. You’re in the driver’s seat: we provide the pathway, coaching, and support, and you bring the effort, follow-through, and a willingness to learn.

This process is designed to mirror the real world while expanding access and opportunity. Students who communicate, meet deadlines, and come prepared (with our help) give themselves the strongest chance to succeed.

  • Applications open January 5th, 2026. Fill out the form and tell us about yourself.

    Apply Before February 20th, 2026.

  • Complete your paperwork and attend a workshop to get prepared.

  • Join a workshop to get prepared, understand key date, and feel confident about your next steps.

  • Attend the Hiring Fair on March 21st, 2026.

    Interview with employers and secure your summer internship.

  • Start your five-week paid internship on June 1st, 2026 through July 2nd, 2026 and make the most of this transformative experience.

FAQs

Who can apply?

Any current 9th-12th grade student residing within the six county Kansas City region (Jackson, Clay, Platte, Cass, Johnson, or Wyandotte). Student must be between the ages of 14-19 at time of application.

What industries are available?

We offer internships in healthcare, marketing, engineering, real estate, and more. Employers are recruiting leading up to the hiring fair in March. More details on specific employers and internship opportunities will be released prior to annual hiring fair.

What if I’m unsure about my career path?

That’s okay! ProX is all about exploring your options and finding what excites you.

Do I need work experience to apply?

Nope! ProX is for students who want to learn and grow—no prior experience needed. In fact, for a majority of our interns this will be their first job!
