Your Student’s Future Starts Here and You’re Part of the Journey
ProX isn’t about being “accepted”—it’s about your student showing up, staying engaged, and completing each step on time. When they do, they earn the opportunity to interview at the Hiring Fair and work toward securing an internship. ProX provides the pathway, coaching, and support; students bring the effort, follow-through, and willingness to learn. Families play an important role by helping students stay on top of deadlines and communication.
This process is designed to reflect real workplace expectations while expanding access and opportunity for all students. Students who communicate, meet deadlines, and come prepared (with our help) give themselves the strongest chance to succeed.
We prioritize clear communication with parents and guardians every step of the way, keeping you informed and engaged. With a commitment to excellence and your student’s success, we’re here to help each participant gain hands-on learning that opens doors to future educational and career opportunities.
The ProX Journey
-
Step 1. Apply
Talk it over with your student and have them fill out the application. If they are a minor, you will receive an email notification asking for your consent.
-
Step 2. Check your email
You will receive an email from Stivers, our HR partner, with a link to DocuSign the parent/guardian permissions form. This step is required in order to receive further communication from ProX.
-
Step 3. Prepare
Once the application is complete, both you and your student will receive an invitation to participate in a required workshop, where you’ll learn how more about the program, onboarding process and how to prepare for the ProX Hiring Fair.
-
Step 4. Interview
Upon successful completion of the above steps, participants will receive an invitation to attend the ProX Hiring Fair and a chance to interview and land an internship opportunity that aligns with their interests.
-
Step 5. The Experience
Once hired, your student’s summer experience will begin in June and last for 5 weeks.
Throughout the experience, participants will work with their employer mentor and ProX coach, receive weekly professional development, and meet peers from across the Kansas City Region.
-
Step 6: Celebrate
We will come together at the end of the experience to celebrate all of the hard work of our ProX interns, employers, and community members (that’s including you).
