PD WEEK 3: Overview
By Week 3, interns are beginning to settle into the rhythm of the summer experience. Many students are building stronger workplace connections, growing more comfortable with professional expectations, and gaining increased confidence through hands-on learning.
Agility Focus: Critical Thinking
This week, interns are focusing on critical thinking and how to thoughtfully navigate situations within professional environments. Students are learning how to analyze information, ask meaningful questions to make informed decisions where there may not be one clear answer.
As interns continue developing work-ready skills throughout the summer, critical thinking becomes an important tool for problem-solving. Employers can help reinforce this learning by encouraging curiosity, allowing space for thoughtful decision-making, and engaging students in conversations that challenge them to think beyond the first solution.
This Week’s Ask A Professional
Throughout the summer, interns will hear from professionals across industries. These speaker sessions are designed to expose students to a wide range of career journeys while helping them better understand the many pathways available to them.
As part of this experience, interns are encouraged to prepare thoughtful questions during coaching sessions related to career growth and workplace experiences. Employers can help reinforce this by encouraging conversation with students that help explore their own professional goals and interests.
